Spay Days If you have a financial need for low-cost spay/neuter services for your family cat, we can help you help them!  In partnership with
Maddie’s Fund we offer discounted spay/neuter services for qualifying companion cats in Dane County. To qualify you must have a Wisconsin Forward or Quest card and bring that along with a driver’s license or other photo ID at the time of appointment. There is a six cat limit per household per year. If you do not qualify for discounted services, but have a financial need for low-cost spay/neuter services we can still help. The cost for each cat is $30 by cash or check. All companion cat packages include an FVRCP vaccine.

Fox Valley Humane Association

FVHA Offers Inexpensive Pet Vaccinations & Spay and Neuter Surgeries for Low Income Families with Cats and Dogs

FVHA will be offering routine vaccinations for 1,000 cats and dogs of qualified low-income families for just $5 per animal throughout the month of March.  FVHA will also be offering low-cost spay and neuter surgeries throughout the remainder of 2012.  Both services are available to residents living in Outagamie or Winnebago county.

FVHA is offering these inexpensive medical options to assist families with the costs of having a pet.  Many animals come to the shelter because their families are no longer able to afford them, and FVHA hopes that these programs lessen the families expenses for their pets and allow them to keep them in their home.  Through FVHA's Pet Wellness Program, running in March, the veterinarian team at FVHA will administer a rabies and distemper vaccine and dewormer for each animal at $5 per animal.  FVHA's S.N.A.P Program will also have our veterinarian team complete spay or neuter surgeries for qualified, low-income families.

Costs for the spays and neuters associated with the S.N.A.P Program are as follows:
  • $50 for a cat spay and rabies vaccine
  • $33 for a cat neuter and rabies vaccine
  • $75 for a dog spay or neuter (over four months old)
  • $85 for a puppy spay or neuter (under four months old)
Applicants must provide a recent W2, 1099, SSI, disability, child support and government assistance paperwork.  Household income must be no more than $17,500 for a single person household or $22,300 for a four person household.

Those interested can call FVHA at (920) 733-1717, email reception@foxvalleypets.org, or stop by the shelter during open hours to fill out an application.

This new service is funded by a generous grant from the ASPCA.  FVHA hopes to continue to offer these services to community members in the future pending further funding.

GLAAS Green Lake Area Animal Shelter

We offer a Low Cost Spay and Neuter service.  This program has no residency restrictions and no income requirements.  We work with the Spay Me Clinic in Sun Prairie, WI.  We schedule two trips per month.  You will drop off your pet at the Green Lake Area Animal Shelter on a Tuesday afternoon and come back the following Wednesday evening to pick him/her up.  The clinic has a transport van, they transport the animals from GLAAS to the clinic and back.
We can schedule an appointment for your pet by phone, call 920-294-3042.
The Spay Me Clinic can be reached at 608-834-2700.
This service is not a replacement or substitute for regular and routine veterinary care.  Your pet should receive routine wellness checks, vaccines, and any other necessary care with a local veterinarian of your choice.
The Spay Me Clinic employs licensed veterinarians and performs the same procedure your pet would receive at a local veterinarian.  There are, however, factors to consider when using this program:
~Many of the pets we see have never seen a veterinarian or been vaccinated.  This increases the risk of disease transmission, especially if YOUR pet has never been vaccinated.  We send between 35 and 60 cats and dogs on each transport.  This said, we RARELY see any complications or sick animals as a result of our transports.
~This clinic offers post-surgical care at their Sun Prairie location.  Rechecks within the first week are free, $10 after the first week, additional charges may apply.
~After you schedule your pet's surgery, a veterinarian from the Spay Me Clinic will call you to discuss surgical procedures and address any concerns or questions you may have.
Our fees are:
Dog Spay, including canine distemper and rabies if needed ~ $100 (Cash or Check - $95)
Dog Neuter, including canine distemper and rabies if needed ~ $90 (Cash or Check - $85)
Cat Spay or Neuter, including feline distemper and rabies if needed ~ $55 (Cash or Check - $50)
Microchipping, E-Collar ~ $10
Bordetella, Revolution, Frontline Plus, Advantage Multi, 3 days of Pain Medication ~ $15 each.
Additional services or procedures, such as removing retained baby teeth or retained testicles, or hernia repair, are available.  Prices to be determined by the clinic.
